CMC Inc. (nonprofit partner at CMC) raises funds to allow the Center to offer affordable music classes and lessons, free and low-cost concerts and workshops, low-cost instrument rentals, and other music related resources.

For Students

Winter Term Begins:

January 5, 2015 - students are automatically re-enrolled from Fall to Winter term for all the same classes (except Preschool Music and Senior Piano); balance to be paid by first class of new term (late fees may apply). Notify the CMC office if you are not going to continue in your class/lesson.

CMC office is closed Dec. 24 - 27, and January 1 (except for during events). Reduced building hours from Dec. 22 - Jan. 3 (generally 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).



Give the Gift of Play

PP&R makes last-minute shopping easy

You can make a gift of play to anyone by calling the customer service center at 503-823-2525. Gift certificates* are possible in almost any amount and can be specified for a specific individual. They are good for use toward the cost of registering for classes and activities system-wide, as well as for permits, rental fees, merchandise, swim lessons, fitness passes, and drop-in usage fees at any PP&R recreation facility. Your gift certificate* may be used on multiple items, but may not be redeemed for services or merchandise at City of Portland public golf courses. *Note: no actual certificate is issued, the purchaser is given a unique code which unlocks the gift amount.


CMC 60th Celebration
Save the date: Sunday, June 7, 2015
CMC turns 60 in 2015 - help us make some noise about it at a special performance festival this spring! Students, faculty, alumni and other special guests will perform. Stay tuned for more details. If you'd like to be involved, contact the Director at cmc@portlandoregon.gov, or call 503-823-3177.
