Poinsettia Sale on Now

Early Bird Special ends Oct. 18

Our yearly flowering foliage fundraiser supports CMC’s scholarship program for music students in need. If you haven't ordered yet, reserve your poinsettias now, and help us grow more musicians.

Buy your plants today, and pick them up later - just in time for the holidays. All the poinsettias are from one of Oregon’s best growers, and come in attractive foil wrap and handy protective plastic sleeve, ready for gifts or decorations.

There is an Early Bird Special of $1.00 off each plant on orders before Oct. 18, so don't delay, purchase today!

Order now online, by phone at 503-823-3177, or in person by Nov. 1. Pick-up week is December 2 - 6 (sorry, no deliveries). Thank you for supporting CMC's scholarship students.

Pulling Strings for the School-Year
CMC is still taking applications for private string lessons (youth)

Thinking that strings would be the thing to do? We accept pre-registrations for violin, viola, cello and bass lessons through the school year. Placement depends on applicant's available times, and other factors. See our online catalog for full details, and give us a call at 503-823-3177, or register online at www.portlandparks.org.

Family Friday Returns in November

The Community Music Center is host to hundreds of events yearly - all published on our online calendar of events - including our very-own volunteer-run series called Family Friday.

On select Fridays we host groups to play for all-age audiences - children and families welcome - for about an hour at 7:15 pm. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person or $15 for a family of any size, but no one is turned away for lack of pay. This is not a sedate concert experience - expect kids being kids!

The first Family Friday concert of the 2014-15 season is November 14, featuring Whistlin' Rufus, bluegrass band. If you want toe-tapping fiddle, guitar, mandolin & bass music live and up close, this is your event!

Note: the October Family Friday previously published for October 17th, 2014, is NOT taking place.

Student Calendar Notes

There are no regular classes or lessons the week of Thanksgiving (Nov. 24 - 29), and the office has reduced hours. There are no other holiday closures in the fall (yes, there are even regular classes on Hallowe'en!). See our PP&R web site for CMC's school schedule.
